A fascinating visit to Jerusalem to see Nissan Perez’s final exhibition for the Israel Museum about immigration, entitled, Displaced Visions. Émigré Photographers of the 20th Century. Nissan has an incredible eye. The exhibition had celebrated pictures but also unusual works by well known names and wonderful pictures by photographers that I didn’t know.
Then on to Tel Aviv to meet with Shalom Shpilman to learn more about his activities at the Shpilman Institute for Photography. Enjoyed the exhibition The Naked Eye on surrealist photography and inspired to see how outside projects and education are increasingly taking priority over collecting.
